EMMA’S GARDEN
A poetic story that takes place in a breathtaking east coast fishing village in Nova Scotia, where a granddaughter reminisces about childhood summers with her grandparents. Her grandparents, Emma and Bernard, make a journey in their fishing boat to Cumberland County and picnic on Spenser’s Island. When Emma returns home to her cottage, she changes the village landscape forever and leaves a legacy for all who visit this quaint cove.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
KIM MICHELE spent her childhood summers visiting her grandparents in Harbourville, a quaint little fishing village on the Bay of Fundy and recalls these fond memories for the inspiration of her story. “We would run wild these seashores, everyday was an adventure”. Kim could sit for hours round the kitchen table beside the old wood stove listening to family stories of Sea Captains from the family tree, that sailed from the Bay of Fundy to the China Sea. She is a professional harpist-storyteller and featured artist at various festivals where she presents original stories, poetry and songs reflecting her East Coast heritage.
